B orn in England in 1924, Dr. Michael Warrington served in the Royal Armoured Corps from 1942-1947 with combatant service as a Tank Troop Leader, Normandy, 1944 and North West Europe.
Dr. Warrington studied medicine from 1947-1953 at the Middlesex Hospital, London, England. From 1953-1957 he held several positions, namely House Surgeon at the Middlesex Hospital in London; House Physician at the Canadian Red Cross Memorial Hospital, Taplow, Bucks. England; Obstetrical and Gynaecological House Surgeon and Medical Registrar at the Canadian Red Cross Memorial Hospital.
From 1957-1960 Dr. Warrington practiced as a prairie doctor in Saskatchewan where he single-handedly provided care for 3000 patients across 500 square miles spanning 4 isolated municipalities.
Dr. Warrington continued his medical career as a family medical practitioner in Victoria and North Vancouver from 1960 - 1990. During this time he was also Unit Surgeon, British Columbia Regiment (Duke of Connaughts Own) from 1974-1981 and Commanding Officer 12 (Vancouver) Medical Company from 1981-1983. He is Lieutenant Colonel (Hon. Retd) 12 (Vancouver) Medical Company.
Dr. Warrington and with wife, Helen, have eight children and are the proud grandparents of 14 grandchildren.
