The hospital’s near future includes plans for a brand new facility: the John C. and Sally Horsfall Eaton Centre for Ambulatory Care. The facility will be named in honour of the Eatons’ two million dollar gift to St. John’s Rehab.
This 49,000 square-foot addition will bring together all of the hospital’s outpatient services for the first time, including telerehab consultations for patients from across Ontario, a new therapy pool, whirlpools and a face-mask and splinting clinic for burn and sports injuries. Floor-to-ceiling windows will provide a dramatic backdrop to the facility’s 25 acres of beautifully landscaped grounds. Existing inpatient treatment areas will be renovated, and the hospital will be stocked with the latest treatment equipment.
St. John’s Rehab Foundation is in the midst of the fifteen million dollar Rebuilding Lives fundraising campaign to support the redevelopment project, as well as fund treatment equipment, clinical education and rehabilitation research.
