J ason Sharpe - is a new-media artist specializing in healthcare communications. Trained as a medical illustrator in the University of Toronto’s Biomedical Communications (BMC) program, Jason went on to co-found AXS biomedical Animation Studio in 2003. With his partners at AXS, Jason develops innovative ways to explain complex subjects in medicine and biology through state-of-the-art computer animation and interactive media. Their clients include hospitals, physicians, researchers, disease foundations, government, film companies, and private pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies. AXS Studio was nominated for a Gemini Award in 2006 for their cellular and molecular animations on the dramatic TV series Regenesis. They have been awarded four prizes by the Association of Medical Illustrators for their innovative animations and websites.
