an Perrin is the manager of the newly created Centre on Global Health Security at Chatham House, home of the Royal Institute for International Affairs. Once fully established, the Centre will analyse the policies and mechanisms that underpin Global Health Security, which can be defined simply as the protection of the health of individuals and societies. Weaknesses in these policies and mechanisms will be identified by expert analysis and recommendations will be proposed to both the Public Health and International Affairs community.

Ian holds a Bachelor of Science in Physiology and a Masters of Science in Global Politics and International Relations. Prior to his role at Chatham House, Ian spent time overseas, working in a political observatory in Buenos Aires monitoring activity in Argentine Congress, and later on working for a refugee resettlement agency in the USA. Ian also has a keen interest in travelling.
