L isa Pedrini is currently the Manager of Social Responsibility and Diversity within Learning Services of the Vancouver School Board.
She works as part of a small team of staff addressing areas that include abuse prevention, anti-racism, anti-homophobia, prevention education, safe and caring schools and environmental sustainability. The team works toward supporting schools in fostering students’ social and emotional health and development, safety, and wellbeing within diverse, equitable and environmentally sustainable school communities.
As the manager, Lisa Pedrini works on everything from supporting schools to creating positive climates for teachers and students so that they can perform at their best. She strives to find new strategies to promote wellbeing but also works in prevention. Her work covers violence prevention, school safety, anti-racism, restorative processes and students taking action for social justice; this includes addressing health and career education, supporting mindfulness education (through the MindUp program), encouraging the use of restorative practices, helping develop school codes of conduct, overseeing SEL and prevention program training and implementation, as well as threat assessment.
Prior to joining the school district in her current role, Lisa’s roles have included classroom teaching, private educational consultant and curriculum writer, and administrative staff working in the Professional Development division of the BC Teachers Federation. She has a Masters in Leadership from Royal Roads University.
