M aureen Loft is a Nurse Practitioner / Clinical Nurse Specialist with St. Joseph’s Health Care London. She has been nursing for 22 years, beginning in critical care and currently working in the orthopaedic program at St. Joseph’s hospital. She is presently the Executive Board secretary for the Nurse Practitioners’ Association of Ontario. Maureen has a Masters of Science in Nursing from the University of Western Ontario and completed the Post-Masters Nurse Practitioner Diploma at the University of Toronto. She has a casual faculty appointment with the School of Nursing at the University of Western Ontario. Maureen also obtained Orthopaedic Nurse Certification from the Canadian Nurses Association. Maureen’s research interests include patient transition from hospital to home, pain management – particularly post-operative pain, and advance practice nursing.
