G ary Kapelus, BSc, MBA, DSP - Professor and Coordinator, Interprofessional Studies, Centre for Health Sciences, George Brown College, Toronto Principal, Gary Kapelus and Associates and The Collaborative Practices Group, Health Care and Human Services Management Consultants.
Gary is a key member of the interprofessional education (IPE) leadership team at George Brown College. His responsibilities include communicating and coordinating the interprofessional education (IPE) agenda, promoting relationships and curricular bridges across 17 health sciences programs and across the college, developing and coordinating new interprofessional applied learning and research opportunities and acting as lead teacher for the College’s first interprofessional education course, Collaboration: The Future of Health Care. He is also involved in the leadership, implementation and research teams for the three-year provincially-funded interprofessional education research project, Learning To Care Together. Gary has co-authored numerous presentations about interprofessional education accomplishments at George Brown College.
Following a successful career in clinical practice and hospital management, Gary has consulted widely to health care organizations in strategic, operational and facility planning, implementation and evaluation. Gary holds graduate degrees in Speech-Language Pathology and Business Administration, and a university certificate in Conflict Resolution.
