I think Gabor Mate is brilliant. I've read several of his books and they are all so helpful - and interesting, too. I'd like to recommend a totally different book that he (and WE) might also find very useful, especially since it's not the way many of us grew up: The Power of Positive Confrontation by Barbara Pachter
