ric Hong - Director of Corporate Development for the Yee Hong Centre for Geriatric Care www.yeehong.com – an organization dedicated to providing culture appropriate health services for Chinese seniors, and long-term care home services to ethnic minority communities, currently including the Chinese, Filipino, Japanese, and South Asian. His responsibilities include government and stakeholder relations, medical services, influenza pandemic readiness planning, and serving as Corporate Privacy Officer. He is currently focused upon redesigning hospice palliative care services, integrating Traditional Chinese Medicine, and partnering with stakeholders in three Local Health Integration Network regions.

Previously, Eric managed Ontario’s Alzheimer Strategy Transition Project where he was accountable to the Ontario Seniors’ Secretariat, the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care, and the Alzheimer Society of Ontario (ASO). He facilitated integration of Strategy legacy initiatives into the broader health services sector, helped establish the Alzheimer Knowledge Exchange www.akeontario.org and supported developing the Future Planning Framework for Alzheimer Disease and Related Dementias (available through www.alzheimerontario.org).

Eric received his social work training from York University, and studied Health Policy Management and Evaluation at the University of Toronto.  His clinical and management career included affiliations with the Tung Wah Group of Hospitals (Hong Kong), The Riverdale Hospital, Toronto Rehabilitation Institute, and Whitby Mental Health Centre. In addition to having held academic appointments in Canada and abroad, Eric is an OCSWSSW Registered Social Worker, a CCHSE Certified Health Administrator, and a Surveyor for Accreditation Canada. He has volunteered for community organizations, including as Board Chair for the WoodGreen Community Services. Eric continues to be engaged in systems level planning and coordination forums concerning pandemic planning, hospice palliative care, dementia care, and elder care.
