For the past 30 years, Ms. Foley has worked in many jobs dealing with the health of users / patients / clients. Those positions included acute care, long term community care and mental health; other jobs less often viewed as “health care” were in social services where the impact of the determinants of health were ever present, especially those related to employment, education, income and the quality of social support

or the past 30 years, Ms. Foley has worked in many jobs dealing with the health of users / patients / clients. Those positions included acute care, long term community care and mental health; other jobs less often viewed as “health care” were in social services where the impact of the determinants of health were ever present, especially those related to employment, education, income and the quality of social support.

Ms. Foley is currently President and CEO of Osteoporosis Canada. Most recently she was Executive Director at the Scarborough Community Care Access Centre. Julie also worked at the Sarnia General Hospital, later serving on its Board of Directors. She was employed for a short time at Whitby Psychiatric Hospital and was a committed volunteer on more than one board of the Canadian Mental Health Association. Julie has also worked in Family Service agencies in Sarnia, London and Toronto, as well as in Children’s Aid Societies in northern Ontario.
