Scott Dudgeon is Chief Executive Officer of the Alzheimer Society of Canada, this country’s premier charity focused on leveraging the strengths of 10 provincial societies in providing services to people with dementia, their families and the general public who need to know about this important cause.

cott Dudgeon is Chief Executive Officer of the Alzheimer Society of Canada, this country’s premier charity focused on leveraging the strengths of 10 provincial societies in providing services to people with dementia, their families and the general public who need to know about this important cause. The Alzheimer Society of Canada partners with Canadian Institutes of Health Research, foundations and other funding partners to support the best research in Canada into causes, cure, and improved treatment regarding Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias.

Scott’s career focus has been one of improving the integration of health services, whether in his last role of promoting the improvement of mental health services across the country through his leadership of the Canadian Collaborative Mental Health Initiative, or through the development of system improvement plans for Toronto as Executive Director of the Toronto District Health Council, or through strengthening health services in northwestern Toronto through leading his hospital into a voluntary merger with two neighbouring hospitals.

Scott’s thirty year health care career has been concentrated in a variety of hospital leadership roles in Toronto and leadership in many of the networks that have been instruments of many of the change initiatives in Ontario – including Cardiac Care Network, Child Health Network, Hospital report, GTA Rehab Network, Acquired Brain Injury Network and others. Scott’s volunteer activities include participation on the boards of Bloorview Kids Rehab hospital and The Change Foundation.

Scott holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts from York University and an Executive MBA from the University of Toronto. He is married and has two grown sons.
