D r. Dillon a Certificant and Fellow of the College of Family Physicians of Canada and has a Diploma in Child Health from the University of Otago in New Zealand. He currently is a Primary Care Physician and the Medical Director at Klinic Community Health Centre in the core area of Winnipeg.
In his work at Klinic, Dr. Dillon has a practice that involves community outreach to high-needs populations. He has a special interest in substance use problems, as well as Hepatitis C, HIV, and tuberculosis infections.
Education and teaching have always been important complements to medical practice. Dr. Dillon is an Assistant Professor in the University of Manitoba Department of Family Medicine and has been involved in the planning and presentation of Continuing Medical Education programmes for physicians and trainees for over a decade.
Dr. Dillon moved to Manitoba in 1994 from Sioux Lookout Ontario, having worked there in Aboriginal Health care from the early 90s. A primary area of interest was Maternal and child care. Michael still works in the Sioux Lookout Medical Program on a regular basis.
Previously, Michael and his partner had lived in Aotearoa (New Zealand), where Michael studied paediatrics and emergency medicine.
Michael is committed to the arts and music, as a songwriter and record producer. He also has been a frequent contributor to CBC Radio One programming in Manitoba and nationally.
