Donna joined NS Department of Health (DoH) in 1996 and currently is Director of Monitoring & Evaluation, Continuing Care Branch, accountable for licensing and auditing of LTC and Home Care agencies, evaluation of CC initiatives, information management, and deployment of InterRai tools for CC.

This employment history, combined with earlier years in acute and pediatric healthcare, volunteer involvements, and participation on many working groups and research initiatives, has enable Donna’s direct involvement in developing numerous policies and programs designed to enhance care of the elderly, including a restraint-free policy, the (now required) provincial Continuing Care Assistants (CCAs) program, and multidisciplinary Alzheimer care course.
