Effects of an exercise intervention on endothelial function and other risk factors in overweight children
|
T he 2010 DanceRevolution West Virginia State Championship Tournament highlights the impact DanceRevolution (DR) – which is more than a video game – has had on the children of West Virginia. The program also serves to reward those schools utilizing DR as part of the state wide program West Virginia Games for Health in their physical education programs and encourage new participation from schools yet to take part. Most important, the competition offers the children of West Virginia with an exciting fun filled state wide competition all the while promoting healthy kids!
Participation and Tournament Structure
All West Virginia Public Schools currently participating in the West Virginia Games for Health program already certified and currently using DR are eligible to take part in the State Championship Tournament. The tournament breaks down by age division as follows:
- Elementary Division – Grades 3 through 5
- Middle School Division – Grades 6 through 8
- High School Division – Grades 9 - 12
Each school holds its own “Round One Qualifier Tournament” and the two top scores continue on to the “Round Two Regional Qualifier Tournaments” in their respective division. At the Regional Qualifier level, once again, the two
Top scores in each division are eligible to advance to the State Championship Round. At the State Championship the top competitors from each region compete in an exciting head-to-head challenge culminating in a State Champion for each division winner.
Tournament Timing
The 2010 DanceRevolution West Virginia State Championship Tournament will take place during the last half of the 2009/2010 school year in West Virginia:

The 2010 DR West Virginia State Championship Tournament represents a great opportunity to promote good health for all students in the state of West Virginia. The program also promotes greater participation from schools throughout the state in the 2010/2011 academic year and beyond.
