athleen Connors is currently the voluntary Chairperson of the Canadian Health Coalition – a broad based national Coalition that has existed for 24 years. Kathleen is a retired registered nurse and spent the last 20 years of her working life as the elected President of the largest nursing organization in Canada - the Canadian Federation of Nurses’ Unions. Kathleen was born and raised in a Manitoba farming family. Kathleen’s activism on social issues began when she was infected with the spirit of suffragette, Nellie McClung while attending the High School in the community where Nellie began her activism.Throughout her working life Kathleen has been a passionate defender of Canada’s publicly funded, publicly delivered health care system, and the people who work in that system. Her retirement, with her husband Cyril brought them “home” to Pouch Cove Newfoundland where she continues her activism on health care through the Health Coalition of Newfoundland and Labrador and the Canadian Health Coalition.
