J eff Bost, PAC, has been a Neurosurgical Physician Assistant, clinical instructor in neurosurgery and an associate of neurosurgeon, sports medicine specialist and nutritional expert with Dr. Joseph Maroon since 1987.
Mr. Bost and Dr. Maroon have a special interest in minimally invasive spine and brain surgery and have collaborated on many scientific and medical papers and books in these areas.
In 2007, after meeting David Sinclair, PhD and head of the Anti-Aging Laboratory at Harvard Medical School, both Dr. Maroon and Mr. Bost became intrigued with how newly discovered longevity genes could be activated to preserve health and prolong life. Specifically, they learned about the natural supplement, resveratrol, found in red grape skins, its gene activation and health benefits. In 2009, Mr. Bost was the lead researcher for Dr. Maroon’s book, The Longevity Factor: How Resveratrol and Red Wine Activate Genes for a Longer and Healthier Life (Published by Simon & Schuster).
Dr. Maroon and Mr. Bost also co-authored the book, Fish Oil: The Natural Anti-Inflammatory. The book is currently in its fourth printing with over 75,000 copies sold.
Mr. Bost has lectured on natural products and its treatment for pain and inflammation at medical organizations and public forums around the world. He has given over 100 invited lectures, 24 national posters and oral presentations, 33 coordinated research projects, five workshops presentations, 23 scientific articles and has co-written two books.
