Carolann Barr

arolann has close to 20 years of progressive senior leadership and program development with diverse and marginalized populations. Her work has been conducted in a variety of health and social services environments with both youth and adults, with a strong focus on poverty, homelessness, mental health and addiction issues. She has devoted her career to help reduce barriers and create initiatives to combat homelessness.

Carolann is currently the Executive Director at Raising the Roof, leading national research efforts and partnership building through the Youthworks initiative. Carolann joined the Raising the Roof team in January 2008 and led the development of the national research report Youth Homelessness in Canada: The Road to Solutions. In conjunction with a national conference steering committee she spearheaded planning for the 2nd national youth homelessness conference – Partners Solving Youth Homelessness. The Youthworks initiative is aimed at building national partnerships to break the cycle of youth homelessness.
